If you follow me over on Facebook or Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve got a lot of catching up to do on the blog. This August, we welcomed our third baby. So, why am I publishing this instead of a birth announcement? Well one, I think it’s best to start from the beginning and two, because I am just so smitten with these pictures, taken by Emily Wenzel Photography in front of Mother’s Haven‘s little yellow house! Now that the brick and mortar store has closed, I treasure these photos even more.
Babywearing is a tool that has absolutely been heaven sent when it comes to bonding with my babies and especially with juggling the needs of multiple kids, so it was really special to be able to include it in our pregnancy announcement. It was also incredibly sentimental to be able to take these pictures in front of the store where I first learned about babywearing. It was there that I came for a support as a pregnant mom, and I practically lived there after my oldest baby was born. It was also the place where I launched my career in the natural parenting world. In so many ways, it was “the house that built me”. Having it as the setting for these pictures was incredibly special.
And of course, I had to have my amazing babywearing mama friend and incredible photographer Emily Wenzel to capture this. If anyone understands all the special pieces that went in to this picture and the meaning behind it all, it’s Emily. <3
