New parents have a lot on their plates, and often the last thing on our minds is sending out birth announcements. When we finally do get around to it, the task quickly becomes arduous. First there is the rush to find the perfect picture, and then finding the right card design before printing. After that you have to collect the addresses for all of your long lost friends and relatives, and then begin the long drawn out job of hand addressing each envelope. Considering the fact that your precious newborn needs your constant attention, it’s a wonder you have time to get them out before baby turns one!
That’s why I LOVE minted.com. Before baby is born you can create an account and start saving your favorite designs. You can also create an address list of everyone you will want to send an announcement to. Then, when your bundle of joy comes and you have a few pictures you love you can use their “Find it Fast” feature to preview how the photos will look in hundreds of beautiful card designs! Enter in the appropriate details (your baby’s name, height, weight, etc) and your announcement is good to go. Then, when you go to print, you will have the option to have the recipients names and addresses printed on the envelopes for FREE! Presto! While you could have spent hours and hours of time on this project, instead you can check it off of your to-do list and spend time snuggling your baby.
There is only one part of the announcement making process that I dread – selecting the design I like best! There are so many to love! I spent some time today playing around with a few of my favorite designs and a few pictures of our new baby Leona, and I honestly can’t decide which one is my favorite. Which do you like best?
